Jaxson Khan – Chief Executive Officer
Formerly of Peel District School Board

Jaxson Khan is a first-year student studying global development at the Bader International Study Centre in Hailsham, UK. As Chief Executive Officer, Jaxson is of the utmost confidence that OSTA-AECO's eleventh year will be a successful and productive one.
Formerly a student trustee of the Peel District School Board, Jaxson served as Operations Officer and Webmaster for the Ontario Student Trustees' Association in 2011. In his role, Jaxson spearheaded the re-branding of OSTA-AECO's website as well as the organization's incorporation process. He has advised the Ministry of Education regarding student engagement and mental health, represented the students of Ontario at conferences on 21st century learning and technology, and led the creation of OSTA-AECO's Charter of Rights for Mental Health and Well-being for Children and Youth. Jaxson has been heavily involved in community projects for over four years. In high school, he was proud to serve as president and founder of the Student Wellness Committee, vice-president of the Student Activity Council, and head of the Gay-Straight Alliance. In the community, he engaged with and advised numerous youth associations including the Mayor's Youth Advisory Committee of Mississauga and the Peel Environmental Youth Alliance. In leadership of the Peel Student Presidents' Council, he ran multiple conferences and events for students across three municipalities.

Jaxson is a fanatic for cogent reasoning, writing, programming, and swimming. In 2011, he was awarded the Lloyd Carr-Harris Foundation Scholarship for excellence in business and community leadership, the June Callwood Harmony Scholarship for advocating equity, inclusion, and harmony in Ontario, and was recognized as the City of Mississauga's Young Citizen of the Year. He is a strong proponent of the democratic voice and rights of students in Ontario.
