Simcoe County District School Board

Hartford Murdoch, returns to the Ontario Student Trustees’ Association this year as President of the English Public Board Council, a post this Student Council President from Simcoe County takes great pride in serving

In addition to Mr. Murdoch’s work in regional and provincial education, he has worked as president of the YNOTtawasaga youth council of Bradford Ontario; bringing arts, recreation, and a voice to the area’s youth. He has sought to highlight rural issues as a member of The Ontario Rural Council, and encourage youth employment through his work with the York Small Business Enterprise Centre and the Ontario Community Futures Development Corporation.

An interest in politics and activism took root in Mr. Murdoch during his term as a legislative page in 2006 and carried on to further regional and provincial roles. Hart has moderated municipal, provincial, and federal debates; and spoke on many issues, ranging from employment to the environment.

Hart Murdoch’s achievements and roles led to his nomination as part of

Canada’s contribution to the Global Young Leaders’ Conference this past summer in Beijing, where he specialized in his chosen career path of medicine.

An advocate for a student voice, whether through activism, student directed learning, or any other medium, Hartford Murdoch looks forward to enjoying a year of service to Ontario and its students.
