Cassandra Curcio holds the position of vice president of the English Catholic Board Council for OSTA-AECO’s 2009/2010 year. She is currently enrolled in grade 12 at Brother Andre Catholic High School and is serving as student trustee of the York Catholic District School Board for the second year.
Within Brother Andre, Cassandra was elected president of student council by the student body. In addition, she was also elected president of student government, representing and voicing the concerns of each of the seven councils that Brother Andre offers. Through her student senate, she is able to echo these voices at the board level as well as parent council meetings, initiating change and promoting student involvement. As a result, she has planned numerous charitable fundraisers, school events, conferences involving hundreds of students, and has worked with several organizations, including Habitat for Humanity.

| Although these commitments are present, Cassandra recognizes the importance of her teenage years. She truly enjoys spending time with her friends and family, curling up with a good novel, and going to the beach to relax and take in the sun on hot summer days. She is also interested in the art of dance, and was part of a team for thirteen years. After completing her senior year, she plans to study biology in university and continue to engage herself in and promote the student voice. | |
