The Ontario Student Trustees’ Association – l’Association des élèves conseillers et conseillères de l’Ontario is proud to offer world-class professional development opportunities for Student Trustees in Ontario and across the nation. A huge takeaway for the next generation of leaders often times is OSTA-AECO’s conference keynote speakers.

Keeping with tradition, OSTA-AECO is excited to welcome two distinguished and thought-provoking keynote speakers to the association’s Fall General Meeting (FGM).

Up first on Friday, November 18th, is Toronto City Councillor and former Member of Parliament, Norm Kelly.

With over 20 years of political experience at both the municipal and federal levels, Councillor Kelly has been an innovative politician, historian, and current Toronto City Councillor. Kelly brings a unique perspective to politics, being a strong and experienced leader at Toronto City Hall. He also leverages social media to connect with the communities he represents in a truly unique way.

Up next on Saturday, November, 19th, OSTA-AECO is thrilled to have the Provincial Advocate for Children and Youth, Irwin Elman.

Elman has an extensive background as educator, counsellor, youth worker and policy developer, and in addition, brings over 20 years of experience both promoting and advocating for the children and youth of Ontario. He’s served in various capacities such as Director of Client Service at Central Toronto Youth Services and Manager of the Pape Adolescent Resource Centre.

OSTA-AECO’s Fall General Meeting comes to Toronto November 17-20 at the Toronto Marriott Downtown Eaton Centre.
